Our History
Megan Weaver is a filmmaker and videographer from San Diego, California. She attended the University of California, Irvine where she studied both English and Film & Media Studies (B.A.'05). Directly after college, Megan attended Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts where she earned an M.F.A in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing. While attending Chapman, Megan formed her production company, StarrWeaver Productions, in 2005 and wrote and directed several short films including her award-winning thesis film, Without Wings, which stars Academy Award nominee, Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit). Post-graduation, Megan worked in the Hollywood industry as a Casting Director for award-winning short films such as She's a Fox, which has won numerous awards internationally and has been praised for its phenomenal child-centered cast. In 2007 Megan expanded StarrWeaver Productions to include cooperate, business and wedding videography. Megan is currently the owner and founder of StarrWeaver Productions, an Assistant Professor of Communication for Vanguard University's Cinema Arts department, an instructor for the Film & Television Conservatory of the Orange County School of the Arts (OSCA) where she teaches Television Production and Directing, and directs several stage productions throughout the year at various OC playhouses.
